Me J. D. Greig, manager of tho local branch of the Bank of Australasia, who has been promoted to Auckland, was , on Monday afternoon the recipient of a handsome smoker's outfit and a travelling rug from the staff aud sub-managers at Taib&pe and Martcm. Tte presentation was made by Mr I". Dyer, who referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Greig's many good qii.alitics, and though regretting his departure, heartily congratulated him on his promotion. Mr Greig feelingly replied, expressing tho hope that the kindly relations that had existed in the past between the manager and the stall' would over continue to exist.
