Mr Myers, Crown Prosecutor, in opening the case against Ellis, charged with the Te Awaitc murder, said that the Crown relied on circumstantial evidence to connect the prisoner with tho ctimc, for which there was .strong evidence of riiotive. Ho made application for the jnry to visit the scene oi' the crime- Hie Honour said the matter was one for tho -jnry. to decide. ' The jury decided to go, and leave by .thisr -afterrioon's train, the trial being adjourned until Wednesday.
