The Water Supply.

Sir, — Now that *he Borough Council has given permission 1- ? the unlimited supply of water at Okehii to* be occasionally used for garden purposes, most ratepayers, who possess hoses, are taking advantage of,- the commission. So far so good, but this ia- no reason why liome of them who are too tired to .hold' the ' watering apparatus should leave.it to look after itself and in many instances give passersby a sudden andnmexpected bath. Of course if the victims were members of the great unwashed society it would not' matter, but instinct or something- of. the sort , keeps that claas out of the way and only tliose who; are not -in ..want of> a bath get in ' tho Tvet. ' Thk ; fort' of thing is calculated to cause profanity of a vigorous aort to get loose, especially, as in my ca§e, .whejre. fellows are on the way out tor t;he .evening f iujd have .to return home to make a change before' resuming the journey.
