ADVANCE FORDELL
Our Fprdell ' correspondent writes: — Onr usually quiet little township has been particularly noisy of late with the constant stroke of the builder's hammer and chatter of iron roofing, the erection of a public hall being the cause of all the noise, Mr E. Young having decided on supplying a long-felt want by erecting a building suitable for concerts, dances, etc. Particular attention is being given to the floor, which is of picked on a_very solid foundation, and, no doubt- will be highly -appreciated by the dancing folk. The building is 45ft x 25ft; and 14ft from floor to ceiling, .the whole being well lighted. Dressing-rooms, etc., "are attached to the mam building, which has seating accommodation for over 200 persons.. A moveablc stage runs right across, the end of the hall, giving- ample space for small companies and concerts. Messrs Barns and Richardson, the wellknown builders, have erected the building in their usual up-to-date style, which reflects great credit on the firm. Mr Young intends opening the hall on Friday night, the 13th inst., with -a dance, which no doubt will -be largely attended— - _ -
