THE DUNEDIN BURGLARY.
The N.Z. Times' "Own Correspondent" supplies the following 1 details of, the Dunedin burglaty: — One" of tho most daring robberies of 'jewellery that has occurred in Dunedin took place yesterday afternoon in broad daylight. Between 3 and 4 o'clock .the house of Mr P. 'O. Bridgeman, manager at Neill "and Co.'s, Queen Street, North Dunedin, was broken into and the top floor thoroughly ransacked. In Mr and Mrs Bridgeman's rooms the 'thieves found jewellery cases ■ containing ornaments valued at about .£2OO. They opened the small cases, and turned the contents into a big case so as to make transportation more handy, but 'gene-' rously left a pair of gold bangles in an open case. There was £5 in money, in Mrs Bridgeman's room, which the tliieves placed to the credit of their cash account. Not satisfied with this, they stole Mr Birdgeman's razor. Every pocket of the owner's wearing apparel was turned inside out, the contents being scattered over the floor. The room in which Mr Bridgeman's boys sleep" was also entered and the drawers ransacked, clothing being flung in all directions. The raiders took the lads' watches. The servant girl's bedroom was - searched, and turned upside down. In this room the plunderers got £2 10s in money, a watch and chain and an engagement ring. "
