SENSATIONAL EPISODE AT TAURANGA.

A Mob of Fnmtlo Cattle. Dp and Mrs Flamlntf Injupod (N.Z. Herald's Correspondent.) TAUEANGA; November 21. Quite a sensational episode took place :' in the town yesterday -afternoon that has caused no end of excitement. The Waitangi brought over a mob. of cattle for next week's Show, and after being landed, the animals, which were reputed to be quite quiot at home, seemed to become frantic owing to the tray they were hustled and* driven about. They took complete charge of the town, one of them taking -charge of tho re- _ doubt. Another detachment went up Spring Street and Cameron Road, clearing everything before them, and one big red steer took charge of the Strand, and was ultimately got into a paddock nearly opposite the Star Hotel. From there the brute crashed through, several fences, and landed in Dr Fleming's garden. Mrs'Floming, thinking it was one of thS usual borough cows, started to drive it out, when it charged her and gored her aU up one side, bruising her badly. In i~e mean-* time a general scaro had set in, and women, children, and men were all seeking shelter along the Devonport -Road, mounted men picking up chilren and putting them in safety, and gome of the storekeepers on the Strand took the precaution to closo their doors. The injuries of Mrs Fleming consist of a bruiie and contusions on the body, and a aevere nervous shock, but nothing of an 'absolutely serious nature. Dr Fleming is seriously injured, having a fracture through the left ankle, but the most serious injury is where the horns penetrated the loner part of the body.
