The Big Telescope Ordered
It will be pleasing intelligence to all who are interested in astroromy and in the above Society, to know that the executive has cabled an order to England for the Calver Reflecting Telescope of 20J inches diameter. This instrument, mounted on a firstrdass equatorial stand and driven by a powerful clock, will enable the best of astronomical observations to be taken as well as photographic It has a full battery of twelve eye pieces, and altogether it may be considered a very fine equipment. Mounted on the site kindly granted on Cook's Gardans by the Borough Council, this telescope chould prove a great al traction to Wanganui residents and to many from other parts of New Zealand. The Society will be glad to hcßr from anyone wishing to be enrolled as members. ~ > —'*
