N.Z. CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR CONVENTION.
• (Per United Press Association.) " WELLINGTON, July 23. A business sitting 1 of the New Zealand Christian Endeavour Convention wa» held' this morning. Reports Rhowcd a total membership of 7645, and 215 Societies, ono of which supports seventeen native teachers. Fifteen members have joined tho ministry. The following officers were elected: — President, Rev. Hugh Kelly (Auckland) ; vice-Presi-doiite, Revs. R. TSrwim and Dallaston; Treasurer, T. Sims. A letter was read from Dr Clark, founder of the movement, expressing the bttpe that he will be able to visit tho colony. It' wgs decided that a "deputation wait on tht» Premier and urge him to re-introduce the Bill to deal with opium importation. It was resolved to support the Auckland invitation to Mr Sankey. It was agreed to affiliate with the Australian Christian Eodpftvour Union.
