PATRIOTIC CONCERT IN THE DRILL HALL. The celebration of Anniversary Day, " concluded last evening with the patriotic' ' concort in aid of the "More Men*' Funj^T" tendered (by special request)) by members of the CtfemopoHtan Club, assisted by the Wanganui Caledonian Society. - The holiday audience, was a particularly large one, in fact the hall was crowded, and it was satisfactory to learn, from the Mayor that there had been a further contribution towards tho fund from this source of £i 9 12s lOd, or, in round numbers, that the two concerts had augmented tho grand total of tho fund by about .£l5O. Space will not permit of a detailed notice of the very lengthy, diveisified and appropriately-arranged programe, but this may be stated that tho contributors, individually and collectively, were most heartily received, and had the recalls in every instance been acceded to, it would have been past -' midnight ere the entertainment concluded. Amongst those who so willingly placed their services at the disposal of the committee, and who thus maleriallyasfisted towards the- attainment of the worthy object in view may Be mentioned v (lie following:— Ttio Wanganui Garrison, - Band, the Wanganui Guards 1 , tho pipers and visitor:) to the Caledonian Bports, Mrs Halpin, the Miases Briiigezn, Miss Anst-in, Mis 3 Mill, Messrs Myers, Cnbb, McKenzie-Forbes, M. The Scottish national tableau concluding tho first part of the programme, and th'o grand finale, "Soldiers of the Queen," were ~ sr-lendidly worked up^ and the audience joined with vigor and 'enthusiasm in the martial choruses. During an interval, " Mr J. B. Murray (president of the Wanganui Caledonian Society) presented the medals to the successful competitors at the Bports gathering, and as each recipi- - wit stepped forward he was received with generous applause.
