A TOWN WRECKED BY AN EARTHQUAKE.
A CMEISTMAS DAY SENSATION. (Per Mail Steamer at Aucklaud.) (Per United Press Association.' 1 AUCKLAND, January 18. The town of San Jacinto, California, wag wrecked by an eaithquako on Christmas Day. The tremor w.is almost tho seveiett since American occupation in Southern California. The business part of tho little town, consisting of a block of twostory brick buildings, was completely ruined, and the other town slightly injured. Sevsral Indians in adobe lionaea were killed.
