♦ Inyercargill Cycling Club's Sports. (Per United Press Association,) IxvERCAnoiLL, March 31. The Invercargill Cycling Club had a glorious day for their meeting, and the -<■ attendance was the largest seen here at such Bports, about 3000 people being * present. The only aeoident was to Nicholson, who ran over the banking, smashed s the rail fence and was considerably bruised. The following are the results of the principal events : Mile: G. Sutherland (Christchurch), sch, 1 : A. Lyons, 110 yds, 2 ; G. Cuthhertson, 55yds, 3. Close finish. Time, 2min 18sec. Wheel Rice, 2 miles: W. Tierney (Auckland), 100 yds, 1; J. Chalmers (Dunedin), 165 yds, 2 ; A. Ralston (Dunedin), 60yds, 3. Time, 4min 44 l-sth sec. Five Miles : G. Sutherland, soh, 1 ; B. Reynolds, sch, 2 ; A. Ralston, 125 yds, 3. Time, 12min 50 4 sth sec.
