WELLINGTON ITEMS.
(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, March 30. The Agent-General cables — Butter 98s to 102s, market dull ; cheese 37s to 40s, dull ; cocksfoot firm. The season is nearly finished. The Post Office authorities have received advice that the China's mails ha\e all been saved except a few boxes of samples. The owners of the Hatuma Estate, Hawke's Bay, are resisting its compulsory acquisition on the ground that the preliminary proceedings were not in order. By consent the case has been removed direct to the Appeal Court.. The plaintiffs are Messrs Sainsbury and Russell, and the area of tho estate is 27,127 acres.
