Proposed Maori Parliament.
(Per Unitea Press Association.) Htotly, March 24. Fnlly two thousana Maoris assembled at Waihi, King Mahutu's settlement on the Waikato Eiver, to discuss Henare Kaihau's Maori Council Constitution Bill, which proposes to establish a native Council of 06 members, 14 nominated by the Government, the rest by the natives, to deal with the whole question oi' native lanas. Mahutu opened the meeting, which is attended by lepresentatives from all parts of the North Island. The total cost of the meeting will run into many hundred* of pound?. The Hon J. Carroll arrives to-ciay and the Premier is expected at the end of next week.
