I The weather was anything hut favonr able for the races yesterday, showers of rain falling at intervals during the afternoon, aud consequently the attendance was small. The Feilding Band, tinder Bandmaster Haybittle, materially aided in enlivening the proceedings. Mr Bryant, of Bulls.had charge of the publican's booth and Mr Morgan, of Palmerston North, had tho luncheon booth. Mr T. Cameron got the fields well away together, and the energetic secretary and other officials were kept busy during tho day. Messrs Neylon and Spriggens pat £18U through the machine. Results ; Flwncj— The Archer (Jenkins) 1, Vibration 2, Turamoi 3. First Shot, Marnia, Oceau, Rimlock, Discount, and Lauristina also started. Won easily, lime, lmin. 22 l-sth sec. Trial Huddles— Nayborn (O'Brien) 1, Ponelope 2 Toroa, Eauguia, Taravento, Bushman, Constable and Tumbler also rau. Wou with ease. A protest against Nayboui for interfence was dismissed. Time, 3min 4 4-oth sec, Dividend, £3 7s. Sindon Handicu'— Rubin (McCormick) 1, Thrush 2, Stockade 3. Won 6asily. Time, 2min 15Jseo. Dividend, £2 145. Mwden —Wavelet (McCormick) 1, Taplow 2, Waipuna 3. Worry, Avondale, Armlet, Lady Lionel, Whiai, Pivot Gun, Silverblaze, Sassafras, Little Jack, Discord, and Pauper also started. Won easily. Dividend, £2 17s. Hpkdieb — Taravento (Stevens) 1, Penelope 2, Whakama 3. Alpine, Violet, and Stella ran off. Opai was scratchec. Won by a length. Whakama carried 51b overweight. Time, 3min 4sec. Dividend, £2 6s. I Electric— Discount 1, Turomai 2, First ■ Shot 8. One of the best races of the day. the placed horses being very close at the finish. Time, 52fsec. Dividend, £27,195. Tbuiway — Rubin (McCormick) ' 1, Thrush 2. Marina, Ocean, and Worry also started. The favourite had it all his own way, McCormick never being pushed. Time, lmin 33seo. Dividend, £1 16s.
