Iv consequence of the heavy downpour »f rain yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, play was stopped soon after two o'clock. The wicket was heavy, and the Marton bstsmen were unable toiinake much of a stand, Wilson alone reaching double figures. The last wicket fell with the score at 48. Wauganui started woll, making 52 for the loss of one wicket when stumps were drawn (L. P. Cave 19 and H. B. Cave not out 30). The game thus ended in a win for tho local players by eight wicksts.
