Slaughterhouse License.

A letter was read from Mr James Watt, noting on behalf of Mr Caddy, pointing out that the Counoil had exceeded its powers in passing a resolution not to grant any license within a wdiuß of seven miles, Cr Fletcher moved-ths motion ot which he had given notice, that tlie resolution passed on the 3th March, 1897, respecting the intention of the Counoil not to grant slaughter licenses within a radius ot seven miles be rescinded! He pointed oat that granting 'a slaughter, license would hot injure the publio of Wanganpi, ob they had their remedy in prohibiting the sala of other' than inßpested meat' in tha Boroughi .
