Wanganui v. Feilding.

Three links from the Wanganui Bowling Club journeyed by train to Feilding jesteidav morning, foi the purpose of plnymg the representatives of the Feilding Club. The visitors wore met at the lailway station ar.d escorted to Light's hotel, where an appetising and well-appointed luncheon was discussed with evident relish. The game, in 21 heads, commenced about 2 o'clock, theio being a number of spectators, amongst them a fair proportion of ladies. The green was in excellent condition, but the high wind blowing rendered good play difficult at time 3. With varying success tho match proceeded, and at the close Feilding hod won a well-deserved victory by nine points. Blundell Spindle Fraser Foster McLaren James Saywell (sk) 22 Moult (sk) 15 Total 05 56 During the afternoon, tea was dispensed, together with other refieshmonts, and the visitors were also entertained at dinner. Altogether they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, aud speak in the highest teims as to the very hospitable manner in which they were treated. Mr Spurdle, president of the W.8.C., took occasion, previous to leaving the green, to acknowledge the hearty manner in which the representatives of the club had been treated, and thanked the president (Mr Bailey) for having given them such a pleasant game. In complimenting the Feilding team on their victory he said it was well deserved, and they were entitled to all credit in having put down such strong rmks as those sent from Wanganui. He ti listed there would be many future matches between the two clubs, and if Feilding could see their way clear to pay a visit to Wanganui it would be the pleasure of the club to return the hospitality extended to them. The team returned by train last evening.
