Mi< Jellicoe's Affidavit.
(Per United Press Association.) WdljHJiOTon, March 8. The affidavit forwarded by Mr Jellicoe to the Government alleges that Philpott's trial was prejudiced by sensational reports and photos published by the ne.vspipers, and the jury, perhap3 unconsoiouly, shared that prejudice. j\£r Jelhcoe also alleges there were circumstances in connection with the tiial inimical to the interests of justice, unfair latitude was given to counsel for the Crown, and the Judge who presided did not preserve so coloiuless an attitude as was necessary in an issue involving life or death.
