Crimson Btreak put in a fait half •oilc, and her stable mate Dooilitr did plough work, St Paul also put in gome useful work on the plough. lolantbo was of no use to Voltigeur over a fait mile, while Sedgebrook and Ascot Tale were restricted to medium task>. The best gallop of the morning was that accomplished by Cdur de Lion. The Derby candidate put in a fast mile and » half, and defeated The Mi«or easily by a oouple of lengths. First Retult started with the pair, but he was outpaced from the jnmp. Mutual and Gipsy Prince put in two rounds, tho last one being fait. The Mnto horse had slightly the best of it. Eapua, Kip Winkle, Errand Bay and St Laura did medium work, similar tasks being allotted to Man-o'-War and Conspiracy. Defiance, who arrived from Napier last night to compete in tho Derby, went a couple of rounds by himself at a slow pace. Light put in a serviceable gallop over a mile, while Swift also did good work. Slaiden and Pom Pom wero associated in ft mile go, in whioh the latter held his opponent safe. St Simon and Frank went together for two rounds, Bgmont did a couple of circuits on the plough, and Disraeli and Corsican put in fast gallops over a mile. Lotion and TallFbo arrived lait night, but were not worked before breakfast.
