— — + (From Our Own Correspondent). May 22. On Wednesday evening the Rev. Mr Laws delivered a lecture entitled, " Ten Dayi m Hot Water." There was a very fair attendanoe considering the weather was not fine, and the ohair was occupied by Mr Henderson, who introduced the lecturer as one of the leading miniateis of Ponsonby and an old acquaintance of his own. The leoturer described, graphically, the Hot Lake Dittriot, its wonders, and sarrouiidings, mnd. his own experiences while visiting the Lake district. The lecture proved not only interesting, bnt very instructive. On Monday evening next the Pollards' Liliputian Opera Oompauy intend performing the comio opera " The Gondoliers " in the- Harmonic- Hall. The company oonsiets of 60 performers. This will prove a treat for the Patea publio as opera companies of any size generally give Patea tbe go-by. The famous singer Mr Gee will visit Putjea early next month and give a concert
