Egmont Racing Club Meeting.

Anticipations by "Pakeha." The annual gathering of the above club is pet down for to-morrow and next day, and fine weather given in the Club may look for a bumper attendance. The racing ! should be of an interesting character, aa the fields are comprised of good quality, and although the principal event has dwindled down to nine, tbe race promises to be exciting. My final anticipations are :—Waimate Handicap, 7 furlongs — Lottie 1, Swordbelt 2, finrose 3. The Handicap Hurdles I predict will be won by Oouranto. In the Hack Hurdles a good race may be looked for between Pumau and Tramoie, and I think they should finish in that order. After the Hack Hurdles comes the Egmont Handicap, of 300 boys, two miles, for which nine contestants have made their final payment. Kosefeldt (Bst 91b) tops the list, and as she has been very consistent in her running lately, she must be looked upou as the most likely one to catch the judge's eye first. Mnsket I7st 71b), although a sterling little horse, I will not have this time. Prioress (7st 91b, including 51ha penalty) will bave to be reckoned with) and although she has never encompassed a two mile journey before, J predict she will make a bold bid for sapremaoy. Noyade (7st 41b) may have a good chance, but I prefor Royul Rose at 7-<t lib. Of the others Coalscuttle (6st 131 b), Bpinfeldt (Gst 101 b), Pinrose and Fill (Cst 71b), I do not think much danger may be anticipated, although Pinrose may have a good outside chance. To anticipate the winner I shall place them :—: — Booefeldt ), Prioress 2, Royal Bose 3. For the Sapling Stakes Pom Pom should win. The Hack Flat will provide one of the best races of tho meeting. I give my votq to Cyrus 1, Swift 2, Benovoree 3. : For the Welter I place— Kent i, Musket i 2, Pill 3. It may not be generally known that Prioresß, by her wins at the late Takapuna Meeting, has incurred a 7|b penalty for the Egmont Handicap, vrbich brings hot weight up to 7«t 91b.
