Robert Scott, formerly in tho employ of the well-known drapory firm of Kirkcaldio and Stains, has issued a writ for £600 for dofamation of character against John Kirkcaldie, a memborof tho firm.
At the adjourned inquest on tho body of Mrs Martin, the medical evidence proved i that there was every indication of irritant poisoning, and that traces of arsenic, which is onoof the principal properties of "Rough on rats," were found in the stomach. The jury returned a verdict that doceased committed suicide whilo temporary insane, A rider was added censuring tho conduct of her husband,
