Wednesday, Oct 14. • - Nearly all the stock entered at the Waver- ' ' ley sale on the 9th instant was sold at fair '*" values. The yards were more than half full, "140 head of cattle and 800 «heep made up the 1 Bale. At bt Hill Street to-day the^attendance yras large and the bidding spirited throughout, nearly every line being quitted at full currents rates for cattle, and at last sale's .values for sheep. The beef was turned out ■ unsold, but 550 head of cattle was sold and - 1550 sheep. Cattle. — At Waverley : Cows and calves, £3 5s ; 2-year-old steers, £3 2s ; cows, £2 > 12s 6d. At Wanganui : 3-year-old bullocks, £4 3s to £4 18s j 2-year-olds, £3 5a ; heifers, £2 10a ; good yearlings, £l 10s to £1 17s 6d. Sheep. — At Waverley : Fat wethers, 12s 3d to 12s 6d; stores, 11s. At St. Bill Street ; Fat shorn wethers, lls ; ewes, 10s j store wethers in wool, 13s ; mixed, 10s to 12s 6d ; ewes in lamb, lls 6d ; JSapier ewes, -• 6s to 6s lOd ; fat lambs, 8s to 9s 6d. PIGS. — The pens were iull of uneful sorts. . Porkers, lla 6d to 19a ; breeding sows, 30a to 355.
