The Taranaki Herald's special reporter, who accompanied the Hon. Mr Ballance round the coast, wires from Opunake tbat the stables at Prosser's hotel were burnt down this morning at 2 o'clock. Nine horses weio in it, but they all got out. The stables were not insured.
The Native Minister left for Hawera this morning. The wet weather yesterday prevented Mr Ballance seeing much of the country, and he did not visit Parihaka. He was deputationed at Opunake relative to the harbor and roads.
