AUCKLAND.
March 14.
The ex-Mayor, Mr J. M. Clark, has been presented with an illuminated address and a purse of 200 sovereigns, to be devoted to the purchase of an astronomical telescope for Mrs Clarke. The Mayor made the presentation on behalf of the citizens.
A young man named Huxtable levanted in the mail steamer. His defalcations aye estimated at £1000. He collected £500 on bills due to Frievlesting, at present in Germany.
