BLENHEIM.
March 12.
In the course of a speech made at the opening of the Wairau Bridge to-day day, the Hon T. Conolly expressed a strong hope that the day was coming when they would see a greater unity of the colony. The colony, thoroughly united, would go on and prosper. There were indications also that before very loug, there would be a unity of the Australasian colonies, and possibly of the whole of the South Pacific. Then there would be established on this side of the world an important confederation of colonies.
