Entries for the Maiden Plate and acceptances for the Handicaps will close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th. Handicaps will be published on or before March 15th. RULES. All entries must specify name, age, performance, name of owner, and colors of the rider. Flying Handicap, 30 soys ; 1 mile ; nomination, 1 soy; acceptance, 2 soys; winner of any handicap of the value of 30 soys or more after, declaration of weights to carry 51bs extra. To start at 12.30 o'clock. Novel Hack Race, 30 soys; distance, about 1 mile ; entrance, 1 soy ; post entry ; weight not to be under 83t 71bs ; the winner to become the property of the Club, and , to be sold immediately after the race.- To start at 1.15 o'clock. Egmont Handicap, of* 130 soys; second horse to receive 20 soys from the stakes; nomination, 2 soys ; acceptance, 4 soys ; distance, 2 miles ; winner of any handicap of the value of 100 soys or more after declaration of weights to carry 51bs extra. To start at 2 o'clock. Maiden Plate, 40 soys ; for three-year-olds and upwards ; weight for age ; distance 1^ miles ; entrance, 2 soys ; open to all horses that have never won any race prior to entry ; winner of any race after entry to carry a penalty of 51bs. To start at 3 o'clock. Nursery Stakes, 30 soys ; for two-year-olds ; distance, f mile ; entrance, 2 soys j colts, Bst lOlbs ; fillies and geldings, Bst 51b. To start at 3.30 o'clock. District Race Handicap, 50 soys; distance, 2 miles ; nomination, 1 soy'; acceptance, 2 soys ; open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entry by bona fide residents who have been living between the White Cliffs and the Manawatu River for_that time ; winner of Egmont Handicap to carry 51bs extra. To start at 4 o'clock. Consolation Stakes Handicap, 30 soys ; for all beaten horses ; 1 mile and a distance; nomination, 1 soy; acceptance, 1 soy. To start at 4.45 o'clock. RULES. No entry Jwill be received for any race except upon this condition, That all dis putes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the programme shall be final, All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Hawera, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, and in cases of Handicaps, performances of the horsD, name of the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 2 soys to the race fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Qualification* fee for non-members, 1 soy. No entry or nomination will be received after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of date of entry, and telegrams of same date will be received. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the race fund. The second horse to save his stakes in all races, except otherwise stated. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hon Secretary's Office, Hawera, onThurs day, 21sfc February, at 8 p.m. Weights will be declared on Wednesday, 27th February Acceptances and General Entries will close on Wednesday, sth March, at the Hon Secretary's Office, Hawera, at 8 p.m. R.
