PTe will stand at Aramoho, at the Aramoho Stables, during the season. He also goes to Moore and Curries station, Kai Iwi, on Monday, and will be at home the rest of the week. His first appearance was in 1878, when he won the Canterbury Champagne Stakes, for two-year-olds (Bst 101 b) in lmin ISsecs, a time which has only once been beaten by half a second. lv , the spring of the fol lowing year he won the Derby at Christchurch, l| miles, in 2miu 45secs, running second also to Longlaiids in the Autumn Handicap the same year, 1J miles, with 7st 51bs up, the winner carrying7st ; time 2min 43^secs. At' the Canterbury Spring Meeting of 1880, he comfortably won the Metropolitan Handicap, 1J miles, with 7st 121bs up, beating Sir Modred with 7st 61bs, and other good horses. At the same meeting with 9st up he rai a good thiid to Billingsgate (Bst 61b) in the Free Handicap of a mile. With Bst 51b3 on his back on the Bame day he ran second to Luna in the Flying Handicap, the latter having 7st lOlbs. He also ran second to Billingsgate in the Grand Stand Handicap at the same meeting, carrying Bst 6lbs. At the Dunedin Autumn Meeting, 38 "1, he ran secoadto Hilarious, with Bst 121 b up, the winner only having 7st lib, in 2min 55secs j on the following day, with Bst 111 b, ran away fiom Hilarious 7st, Lady Emma 7st 21bs, and The Governor 7st 21bs, in 3min 20secs. At the Wanganui Aututnu Meetiug of this same year, with the big weight of Bst 61 bs, he ran a good third to Randwick, 7st2lbs, Libeller second, 7st 51bs, beating King Quail 6st 131bs, and others. On the following day with Bst 121bs, he ran third in the Wanganui Cup, which was won by Sir George 6st lOlbs, Libeller being second with 7st 41b. He had behind him such horses as King Quail, 6st 121 b, Randwick, 7st lllbs, Dan, sst 101 b, and others. At the Hawkes Bay meeting of 1881 he carried off the Railway Plate with the crushing penalty of 9st 51bs in a canter. Oe the following day he ran half a length behind Mavis in the Tradesmen's Handicap, with 9st 61b, the winner carrying 6st. Libeller, who was second, had Bst 41bs. At the Canterbury Autumn Meeting of 18S1, he was unplaced in the Great Autumn Handicap, 9st 21b won by Ladj Emma, sst 131bs. On the next day, with 9st 51b, he ran second to Lady Emma in the Ea&ter Handicap, the latter having 7st 31bs. In 1882 he won the Metropolitan at Canterbury, this being the second occasion on which he had pulled off this event. On the day previous to this he had carried lOst 71bs in the Epsom Handicap, being unplaced, behind The Poet, Bst 71bs, anid The Curate, 7st 21b. He has always shown himself a wounderful performer at all distances, and invariably during the last year or two of his racing career carried top weight.
