Maiden Plate, of 30 soys; 1£ miles; weight for age ; entrance 2 boys ; open to all horses that have never won public money prior to date of entry ; any horse entered for Maiden Plate winning an advertised race between the time ot entry and date of raoe to carry a penalty of 51bs. To start at 4 o'clock. Hack Race, as above. To start at 4,30. Forced Handicap, of 25 soys ; once round the course ; entrance, winning horses 1 soy ; losing horses, 10s. To start at o'olock, RULES. No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, and Objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this pro* gramme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon Secretary, Box No 12, Waverley ; entrance money enclosed (exchange must be added to cheques), with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in case of handicaps, the performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. . Any jockey riding except in colours entered will be fined 3 soys,, When two or more ■ horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. In all weight-for-age races the new weight-for-age scale will be adhered to. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 boys to the race fund. All races to be run under theW.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Qualification fee for non-members, 1 soy. La all races the second horse only saves his stake when it is especially stated that he does so. , . No entries or nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the specified time for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date will be received. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Fly* ing Handicap, Autumn Handicap, and Guineas will close at Ballam's Commercial Hotel on the 24th February, 1883, at 10 o'olock a.m. Weights declared on the 2nd March. Acceptances and general entries close at 10 o'clock a.m., on the 6th March, 1883, at Ballam's Commercial Hotel.
