LAND REPORT.
Mr Ed. N. Liffiton reports a good demand for farms within an easy distance of town, and also for grazing land. Prices in various late transactions have ruled lower than the market rate of last year, and purchasers are notwilling to complete except on reasonable terms. No difficulty is experienced in disposing of property at fair rates, and several purchasers are now in the market. Late transactions completed are :—: — Town Section No. 113, corner of Harrison Place and Church Place, with three cottages thereon, withdrawn from auction at £450, sold privately at £500. Farm of 'S&l acres, in the No. 2 Line, lately occupied by Mr P. P. Fagg, sold for £700, 350 acres at Wairoa, unimproved, half bush and half fern, sold for £1300. The difficulty of a road to the property detracted from its value.
