TE KOOTI AT TAURANGA.

By the following telegram from Napier, it will be seen that Te Kooti is at present operating at Tauranga, and that if there is any force opposed to Wirihana it must be some of the following of the arch-rebels under subordinate command :—

Te Kooti attacked Henare Toomana at Taxmmga, report says, with 180 horse, and another hundred foot came up afterwards. Henare Toomana beat these all back, killing three of the enemy, with only tAvo of his men wounded. Te Kooti fell back upon Tokana, where he is said to have a pa. The Wanganui natives have not yet gone up to Taupo. The Mounted Constabulary, about fifty strong, are supporting Henare. Te Kooti called out that he had killed two scouts at Routouira.
