FIRE FRIGADE MEETING.

A meeting of the Wanganui Fire Brigade was held at the Albion Hotel on Monday evening. The promises made by the Insurance Companies of an engine was alluded to, and it was agreed, to .elicit the intentions of the different Companies by advertisements in the papers. A complimentary vote of thanks was passed to Mr G. W,- Dutton, the late Secretary, for his valuable services on behalf of the Brigade, while he remained in Wanganui. Mr Sylvester Colem'an was appointed Secretary. The Treasurer reported having received the balance of the Brigade fund from Messrs Taylor and Watt. Mr J. W. Robinson intimated that the Californian fire engine, which had been ordered from England, was on its way out. The ordinary business of the Brigade was transacted, and the meeting separated.
