TO CONTRACTORS. fTVHE Teleg-raph Commissioner is JL prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery' of Two Thousand Five Hundred (2500) Poles (more or less), for a line ot Telegraph to be constructed between Wanganui and the City of Wellington. The poles to be sawn from the heart of Totara, and to be twenty (20) feet long;, eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from sap. N.B.—No poles will be accepted that contain the least sap or other defect, such as being1 speckled. The poles are to be delivered at points and distances hereinafter to be indicated, along the coach load between Wellington and Wanganui. Tenders to specify the price per pole. i Each tender must be accompanied 'by a deposit of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two (2) sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted, and mnst be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the proposed sureties. Further information can be ob tamed at. the Telegraph Office, Wellington. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for the supply and delivery of Telegraph Poles between Wellington and Wanganui," and addressed " The General Manager, New Zealand Telegraph Wellington," to be sent in not later than the 14th January, 1809.
