PST OFFICE SAVINGS' BANKS.
The New Zealand Gazette, of March 2I publishes tlie following regulations for 1 banks as above newly established at Clin church, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Timaru, Akari Hokitika, Greymouth, Waimate, West™ and Charleston. 1. Interest at the rate" of 5 per cent. 1 annum is given on sums less than £2OO • the rate of 4 per cent, per annum on sui over £SOO ; and in the same proportion j any shorter time on every complete .£1 , posited, provided that no interest be allow on more than £SOO. 2. Depositors in the Post Office Savini Banks have direct Government Security the prompt repayment of their money. 3. A depositor in any one of the Post Off Banks can continue his deposits at any ot! of such Banks, and can withdraw his mon at that Post Office Bank which is most a venient to him. 4. The strictest secresy is observed % respect to the names of depositors in Po Office Banks, and the amounts of their i possits. 6. Money may be deposited by or on I half of minors. Depositors over seven yeaof age are treated as persons of full age, 1 minors under seven years of age cannot wii draw their deposits until they have reach the age of seven. 7. Applications to the Chief Office in eai Province on the business of Post Office Ss mgs Banks, and the replies sent" thereto, a free from charge or postage.
