WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT ALFREDTON. At the December meeting, the president asked Mrs Bicknell to take the chair. This meeting is usually a small one, so it took place in the form of a social afternoon Mrs Ashworth and Miss Phyllis Bolls, who are leaving the district, were presented with bouquets. The winners of the competitions were:—Christmas novelty, Mrs Dickens 1, Mrs Jurall 2, Mrs Payne 3. Meringues, Mrs Dickens 1, Mrs B. G. Low 2, Mrs Weston 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Ashworth, Clee and S. Edmonds.
