BABY’S DEATH
STRANGLED BY STRAPS. ROTORUA, Monday. Apparently strangled by becoming entangled in straps which had been used to keep- the child from falling out of his pram, James Alma Dryland, the eighteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Dryland, of King Street, was found lying dead in his pram today. The child was put out ic the sunshine in its perambulator and several times during the morning, while carrying out her household duties, Mrs Dryland’ observed that the baby appeared to bo playing quite contentedly. When she visited Mm about midday, however, she found the child lying face down with the strap's around its neck* having apparently died from strangulation. An inquest will be held. —(P.A.)
