PELTED WITH EGGS
BY GANG OF LARRIKINS. ONEHUNGA BAND MEMBERS. AUCKLAND, Monday. Eggs and other missiles were thrown by a gang of larrikins at members of the Onehunga Citizens’ Band during a recital on Sunday afternoon. Though much of the rubbish landed on the roof of the rotunda, some reached the objective, and the performance was spoiled.
“In forty years’ band experience I never witnessed such a stupid occurrence,” said Mr A. Leatherby, bandmaster. ‘lf bandsmen give their time and effort voluntarily they should have the co-operation of the public.—(P.A.)
