WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
SOLWAY-MANAIA MEETING. A meeting of the Solway-Manaia Women’s Institute was held on Thursday, the president, Mrs. Munn, being in the chair. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. Those present were entertained by three members of the Drama Circle— Mesdames Woollett, Henderson and Miss Russell —in an amusing dialogue, “Impossible Perkins.” The producer, Mrs. Church, was afterwards presented with a shoulder spray. The competition resulted as follow: Billy sponge, Mrs. Allen 1, Mrs.. Scrivener 2; decorated bowl of spring flow: ers, Mrs. Scrivener 1 and 2. The roll call for next month will be “Your pet economy” and the competitions: Best bloom, sponge roll, frock to be worn costing not more than 10s. and cheapest Christmas present. The hostesses will be Mesdames MeMichael, K. McGovern, D. McGovern .and Miss McKay.
