VERDICT OF NOT G-UTLTY. WOMAN ACCUSED DISCHARGED. SYDNEY, Monday. At the second trial of Mary Cecilia Thomas, charged with murdering her husband, the jury to-day returned a verdict of not guilty, and the woman was discharged. After an inquest before the city coroner into the death at Chatswood, a suburb of Sydney, of William Thomas, aged 60, his widow, Mary Cecilia Thomas, was committed for trial on a charge of murder. In a statement al-1 leged to have been made by Mrs Thomas to the police, she was reported to have said that, at the request of her invalid husband, who had pleaded to be put out of his pain, she had shot' him.
