TURF NOTES. , The Limond horse Veilmond has leapt into the limelight with a bound as the sire of early speed. On top of Lochlee’s win in his division of the Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington on Saturday, in the fastest time of the three divisions, comesi the success of Rodborough in the A.J.O. Breeders’ Plate at RandAvick yesterday. Rodborough’s time, 59| for the five furlongs, is a record for the race, the previous best being 60 by Salrak in 1921. Veilmond, Avho was bred by Mr G. M. Currie, was raced by the Sydney sportsman, Mr E. Moss. He was a first-class horse, but was often dogged by bad luck. He Avon both St. Legers in addition to other good stakes.

NeAV Zealanders Avere Avell in the picture again at Flemington. Prince Quex, Avho is highly rated by his party, is a half-brother to Lady Pam, one of the best Limonds of her sex.
