FORESTERS’ LODGE
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING.
The fortnightly meeting of the Foresters’ Lodge was held on Monday night when there was a good attendance of members presided over by C.R. Bro. E. Davies.
The sick visitors reported favourably on the sick brethren, and the secretary reported that one Brother had declared on the funds and three declared off.
One friend was proposed for membership and one friend was duly initiated into the Order by C.R., Bro. R. Davies, assisted by I.P.C.R. Bro. C. H. Howes and S.C.R. Bro. W. 11. Edwards.
Bro. R. Walker presented the candidate with the recognition badge and dispensary book.
Ct. Epuni (Petone) forwarded a letter stating that arrangements are being made for their Court to visit the Masterton Court for the purpose of playing the annual indoor bowls tournament.
A letter was received from Ct. Marquis of Normanby (Carterton) stating that a card tournament would be held in Carterton on Wednesday, 7th October.
Bro. R. Davies reported on the wind up social in connection with the U.F.S. Council card tournament, the Waipoua Lodge 1.0.0. F. being the winners of the Shield for the 1936 season.
Bro. R. Walker reported on the Dispensary Board’s meeting. Bro. Edwards reported on the euchre tournament held on Saturday nights. The next meeting, which will be held on 28th September, will be quarternight and a full attendance of members is requested. At the close of this meeting a social evening will be held. The secretary reported that the Xmas Tree returns had been forwarded to the members to fill in, and to be returned by Ist October and members are requested to see that they are returned to the secretary by that date. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £22/10/- were passed for payment.
