WEEKLY HALF-HOLIDAY
TARANAKI MOVEMENT
NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. A moA'e to institute the Saturday half-holiday in all toAvns in Taranaki Avas made to-night, Avhen a petition Avas sent to Parliament asking for an official determination of the half-day. Some toAvns, including HaAvera, Patea, Opunake and Manaia, have already made the change to Saturday. The problem may be settled by an Order-in-Council if the Government is satisfied that a great majority of the people desire the change. New Plymouth has had the Saturday half-holiday for many years, and the varving days on Avliich the half-holiday has been obserA'cd haA'e been contusing to business and sport. —(P.A.)
