ABYSSINIAN RESISTANCE
STILL CARRIED ON. (Received Monday, 9.35 a.m.) NAIROBI, Sunday. A Swedish ambulance unit from Ethiopia has arrived here, after a two months’ march. They were often in great danger, the natives thinking them to be Italians. When they reached the border of Kenya most of the members were too weak to proceed further. Two were able to keep going and found the British District Commissioner’s camp. He sent an expedition and brought them to safety. The members believe that several American missionaries were killed in South Abyssinia. The members of the unit say Ras Desta and many other chiefs have sworn to continue -ceaseless guerilla warfare against the Italians.
