DAMAGES AWARDED

COLLISION WITH CAR. AUCKLAND, Friday. The hearing of a claim for damages arising out of a collision between a motor cyclist and a stationary motor car on the night of Bth December was concluded before Mr Justice Fair and a jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland to-day. The claim was brought by liolford Stewart, 29, tally clerk, against George Alfred Francis Hancock, grocer. The evidence showed that the plaintiff collided with defendant’s ear, which was unlighted. The jury found for plaintiff and awarded him £IOOO general and £259 special damages. His Honour entered judgment accordingly, and counsel for defendant was allowed 14 days in which to move for a non-suit or apply for a new trial. -(P.A.)
