THE GIRL PAT
STORY OF SEIZURE. LONDON, Thursday. The “Daily Mail’’ says a member of the crew of the Girl Pat, in a special statement, declares that shortly before leaving Grimsby, Captain Osborne learned that the ship was going out of commission. He therefore decided to sail to a foreign port and sell the vessel. He intended to proceed to South America, not realising that the disappearance of the ship would be a firstclass sensation. Thus the whole romantic story sprang from Captain Osborne’s fear of being left “on the beach, ’ ’ unemployed and shipless.
