“MORE BABIES”
BRITISH CAMPAIGN. LONDON, Wednesday. Inspired by Mr Chamberlain’s increased income tax allowances for children, the “Daily Express” has started a “more babies” campaign. It publishes a photograph of Mrs Lyons and ten of her children under the streamer heading: “Nine hundred thousand wives say no babies, but Australian Premier’s wife said eleven.” The “Daily Express” says there arc over 1,650,000 married couples in Britain without children. Experts estimate that more than 900,000 of these started married life with the decision to have no children. Three million married couples have only one child.
