Tlie Federal Government proposes fitting out 900 men, divided into 180 parties, led by qualified geologists, this summer to explore every area throughout Canada where favourable rock formations exist, in a most extensive search for gold.
A Public Works Bill lias been introduced into Parliament, carrying an appropriation of £200,000 for the work. Tho Minister for Mines (tlie lion. W. A. Gordon) stated that northern Canada held economic salvation for the country, and he believed it would produce enough gold to pay for all the mistakes since confederation.
