CATHOLIC SOCIAL CLUB

ANNUAL CONFERENCE. . During the Easter holidays the annual contest and conference of the Catholic Social Clubs of the North Island will take place. There will be visiting members from Auckland, Hamilton and other clubs in the North Island. The Masterton Club and a club from the Masterton Hibernian Society will be taking part. There will be a series of contests, embracing oratory., impromptu speech, billiards, tennis, and one religious subject. Amongst the festivities will be a formal luncheon at St. Patrick’s Clubroom on Saturday, and a dance in the evening. Until this year the event was held as a New Zealand contest, but as it was found rather unwieldy to include both Islands, this year each Island will hold separate contests. Points will be given for various contests in a contest for a shield.

The visitors will be the guests of various club members of the Masterton bodies.
