GLADSTONE CLUB. The following players will represent the Gladstone ■ Club in their annual game against Miramar, Wellington, on Easter Saturday. This year the game will be played in Wellington, cars leaving the Square, Carterton, at 9 a.in. sharp:—F. Hemi, B. Nunn (capt.), S. Henderson, F. Lang,, G. Henderson, F. Henderson, J. Nunn, Joe Broughton, G. Booth, F. Booth, F. Walker, F. Day, W. Beside, C. Cooper, F. McGregor, M. Boss, C. Wyeth, B. Roiri, N. Mason, S. Reiri, K. Joblin, F. Hart and H. Hart. All players are asked to assemble at the Gladstone Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 24th inst., ’ when the well known referee, Mr H. Matson, -will give' a lecture on the rules of Rugby. This should; be very interesting as Mr Matson always gives a very good address. , BED STAR JUNIORS. The following will represent Bed Star juniors to play Masterton on Saturday:—Ewihgton, Symonds, Hargood, Hawless, King, Orr, Cross, Hinton, Williams, Patrick, Dwyer, Marshal, Clarke, Henson, Barnett, McCullough, Costello, Wilkinson, Breen, Grantham. MASTERTON JUNIORS. The Masterton juniors to play Red Star at 1.15 o’clock on Saturday will be: —D. Norman, A. Crookenden, B. Workman, N. Mason, B. Hurley, Jensen, Meri, 11. Dixon, C. Curtis, Y. Reid, R. Davis, C. Wilton, I. Stevens, E. Smith, L. Harrap, J. Fielding, H. Ratlmer, J. Ford, Jones, Sutherland and M. Newlands. All players are to be on the ground at 1 p.m". sharp. OLD BOYS’ CLUB. Three Old Boys’ teams will be engaged at the Memorial Park on Easter Monday in Rugby matches that should prove interesting to patrons of the game. The seniors will meet a visiting Hutt team, play starting at 2.45 p.m. while two curtain-raisers will be jdayed, Old Boys v. Opaki juniors and Old Boys v. High School thirds. Both these games will start at 1.15 p.m. The personnel of the teams appears on page 6.
The arrangements for group area trial matches to select a team to tour Britain this year were .further advanced by the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby in Wellington last night. Each Union will appoint a seclctor, and in the event of a dispute regarding o representation the New Zealand Management Committee will decide. An independent member of the New Zealand Selection Committee will adjudicate on any deadlock concerning the selection of players. Replying to a Taranaki protest against the last three trial matches being played so close together, the chairman, Mr Dean said those talcing part in these, games would not have to play in more than one or two.
