During the afternoon a competition Was held which Mrs J. Stempa won, and the competition for the best plate of meringues was -won by Mrs J. Shaw, Mrs Stempa being second and third. A short talk on “Early Days in the Wain; i-apa ” was given by Mrs Daken, of Mt. Bruce, and demonstrations on curing skins and making golliwogs were given by Mrs J. and Miss 0. Campbell (also of Mt.
